Lebanon Airstrike Journalists Killed: A tragic incident has come to light on Saturday, March 28, 2026, amid the ongoing fierce war between Lebanon and Israel. Three journalists have been killed in an Israeli airstrike in the Jazeen district of southern Lebanon. These journalists were reporting to bring the ground reality of the war before the world. Burnt press helmets and safety equipment of journalists have been recovered from the debris, which narrates the horror of the attack.
Identification of killed journalists
According to Lebanese media outlets, Al-Manar TV correspondent Ali Shoaib was killed in the attack. Ali Shoaib was a well-known face of war reporting in southern Lebanon for the past three decades. Along with him, Beirut-based Al-Mayadeen TV reporter Fatima Fatouni and her brother, video journalist Mohammed Fatouni also lost their lives in this attack. Fatima was reporting live shortly before the attack.
Israel’s claim
The Israeli army confirmed the attack, claiming that they had targeted Ali Shoaib. The army alleged that Shoaib was working as an intelligence agent of Hezbollah and sharing the locations of Israeli soldiers. However, Israel has not presented any evidence to support these allegations.
On the other hand, Lebanese President Joseph Aoun has strongly condemned the attack. He called it a ‘heinous crime’ Which violates all international laws and agreements protecting journalists.
Increasing threat to journalists
The number of media workers who lost their lives in Lebanon this year has increased to five, which shows the seriousness of the situation. Recently, in another attack, the head of political programs of Al-Manar TV, Mohammed Sherry, and his wife were also killed, which has created an atmosphere of mourning and concern in the media world. These continuous attacks have raised the question of how unsafe are journalists working in conflict areas.
