Israel Syria War: Israel also sent troops to Syria, conducted a ground attack and captured a Syrian citizen associated with Iran.

Jerusalem: Israel is facing many fronts alone. After Hamas, Hezbollah, Iran, now Israeli attack continues in Syria also. The Israeli army said on Sunday that it had captured a Syrian citizen linked to Iran in a ground attack in Syria.

This is the first time amid the ongoing war in West Asia that Israel has informed about sending its troops to Syria. But this has not been confirmed yet by Syria. Israel has carried out several airstrikes in Syria over the past year targeting members of the Lebanese extremist group Hezbollah and Iranian officials.

Iran is a close ally of both Hezbollah and Syria. However, it did not make public the information about any of its ground attacks in Syria. An Israeli army official said on Saturday that navy personnel had captured a man after attacking a town in northern Lebanon. He described the captured person as a senior member of Hezbollah.

Israel did not tell when and where Syria did it

In a statement issued on Sunday, the Israeli army did not say when or where it carried out the attack in Syria. According to Israel, the captured person has been identified as Ali Suleiman al-Asi. The Israeli army said that he lived in Sedah in southern Syria and that it had been keeping an eye on him for several months.

The military said he was also involved in Iran's plan to target areas of the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights near the Syrian border. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited the Lebanese border on Sunday. Said that their focus is on preventing Hezbollah from obtaining weapons being sent from Iran.
