Israel kills another enemy, Benjamin Netanyahu confirms death of Hamas Chief Yahya Sinwar

Tel Aviv: Israel is continuously wreaking havoc on its enemies. After killing Hezbollah chief, Israel on Thursday said it has killed three Hamas fighters, including Hamas chief Yahya Sinwar, during an IDF operation in Gaza. This has been confirmed by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

News agency ANI quoted The Times of Israel as saying that Netanyahu has instructed his aides to inform the families of Israeli hostages that Hamas chief Yahya Sinwar has been killed. Earlier the Israeli army was identifying the killed terrorists.

On the social media platform X, the IDF said that “3 terrorists were killed during the IDF operation in Gaza. The IDF and ISA are investigating the possibility that one of the terrorists was Yahya Sinwar. The identity of the terrorists cannot be confirmed at this time. There were no signs of the presence of hostages in the building where the terrorists were killed. “The forces operating in the area continue to operate with necessary precautions.”

Hamas did not confirm

On the other hand, there was no immediate comment from Hamas either. The Hamas-linked website al-Majd, which usually publishes about security issues, urged Palestinians to wait for information about Sinwar from the group itself.

What did Israel say?

Israel's Army Radio said the incident occurred during a ground operation in the city of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip, in which Israeli troops killed three militants and took away their bodies. Visual evidence suggests that one of those men was Sinwar and DNA tests are being conducted. Israel has DNA samples from Sinwar, taken during his time in an Israeli prison.

Why was Yahya Sinwar targeted?

In fact, on October 7 last year, on the orders of Yahya Sinwar, Hamas fighters entered Israel and carried out a massacre. Girls were raped at concerts, innocent children were killed and women were dragged and brutalized. Many girls were taken with them. Even the elderly were not spared.
