ISSF Junior World Cup: Indian shooters dominate in Cairo

New Delhi, 23 April 2026: Indian young shooters have maintained their excellent form in the ISSF Junior World Cup being held in Cairo, the capital of Egypt. On the second day of the competition, the Indian team displayed excellent performance and won four more medals. With this, India has now reached third place in the medal tally. On Wednesday, Indian players competed fiercely against world class competitors at the Cairo Olympic International City Shooting Range. At the end of the second day, India won silver medal: 03, bronze medal: 01, medals.

Indian shooters achieved accurate marks not just in any one discipline, but in all three main events – rifle, pistol and shotgun. The special thing about this performance of Indian junior players was that they defeated the world’s leading shooters and got a place on the podium. India has made a strong hold in the first two days of the competition. Having added four new medals, India is currently placed third in the list of total medals. Experts from the sports world believe that in the coming days, Indian shooters can move up in the tally by winning more gold medals.
