Indian shooters have continued their stellar performance by winning medals in the ongoing ISSF World Cup in Hangzhou, China. Shooter Isha Singh won the gold medal in the Women’s 25 meter pistol event on Monday and brought glory to the country. Meanwhile, Olympic medalist Manu Bhaker won the bronze medal.

Isha Singh maintained her dominance in the final from the beginning. They performed strongly throughout the match, defeating China and won the gold medal by scoring 40 points in 50 shots. Isha Singh defeated host Yuyue Zhang of China by a margin of three points. Zhang won the silver medal by scoring 37 points. Winning the gold medal in China by defeating the Chinese opponent is definitely a big achievement for Isha.

Manu Bhakar won bronze medal

Manu Bhaker, who won the bronze medal in the Paris Olympics, also continued her winning streak and won the bronze medal by showing excellent sports performance during the match. Manu faced North Korea’s Hyeon Gyeong Pak in the bronze medal match. There was a tough competition between the two, but in the double shootoff, Manu Bhakar won the bronze medal.

India’s three medals assured in ISSF World Cup

With Isha Singh’s gold and Manu Bhaker’s bronze, India’s total medal tally in the ISSF World Cup has reached three. Earlier, female shooter Sanyam had won a silver medal in the 10 meter air pistol event. This was India’s first medal in this event.

China is at first place in the medal table of ISSF World Cup. China has won 14 medals so far, including six gold medals. The Indian team is in second place with 3 medals. Looking at the performance of Indian shooters, the country is expected to get more medals in the upcoming international competitions.
