It is easy to make caste certificate in UP, a big relief to the people!

Lucknow:The government has taken an important step towards making the process of making caste certificate simple and transparent in Uttar Pradesh. The Yogi Adityanath-led government is now developing new software to remove the delays and administrative hurdles in issuing certificates. This initiative is expected to provide great relief especially to the people living in remote districts.

Issue raised in Assembly, Minister gave information

Social Welfare Minister Aseem Arun told the Assembly that a special software is being prepared by the Revenue Council, which will make the process of caste certificate fast and transparent. This information was given when SP’s Virendra Yadav and Jai Prakash Anchal raised in the House the issue of delay in issuing Scheduled Tribe (ST) certificates to Gond and Kharwar communities. The MLAs alleged that in many districts, people of these communities have to make rounds of the DM office and Tehsil headquarters, yet the certificates are not being issued.

ST certificate facility in 17 districts

The Minister clarified that the system of issuing ST certificates to the people of Gond and Kharwar castes is already in force in 17 districts of the state.

13 districts in the year 2002: This facility was started in Maharajganj, Siddharthnagar, Basti, Gorakhpur, Deoria, Mau, Azamgarh, Jaunpur, Ballia, Ghazipur, Varanasi, Mirzapur and Sonbhadra.

in the year 2003 Sant Kabirnagar, Kushinagar, Chandauli and Bhadohi were also included in it.

The government says that there is generally no delay in issuing the certificate to the family members whose members already have ST certificate. However, in cases of first-time applicants, a detailed scrutiny process is followed, which may take more time.

What will change with the new system?

Through the proposed software, online tracking of applications will be possible, digital verification of documents will be facilitated, monitoring of pending cases will be easy, transparency and accountability will increase. The aim of the government is to ensure that eligible people get the certificates on time without unnecessary hassles.

Common people will get relief

Caste certificate is a necessary document to avail the benefits of education, employment and government schemes. Due to delay in the process, students, job candidates and beneficiaries often suffer losses. After the implementation of the new digital system, it is expected that people will not have to visit offices again and again.
