When the minister was asked whether he should apologize for the IndiGo crisis, Naidu clearly said, ‘Yes, I am sorry for the inconvenience.’ Being a minister, it is my responsibility to ensure that the entire aviation sector works without interruption. When such incidents happen, additional responsibility falls on my shoulders. I want to ensure that those who are responsible are made accountable and such things do not happen again in the future. Our priority is not only to maintain the safety and rights of passengers, but also to further strengthen them.

On criticism of DGCA’s staff and its operations, the minister said that during the investigation, the regulator’s responsibilities and functioning will also be thoroughly reviewed. He said that whatever criminal responsibility is created under the law and rules, it will be implemented keeping in mind the inconvenience and pain faced by the passengers.
