‘It’s a girl!’:Qubool Hai actor Surbhi Jyoti welcomes first child; new mommy shares ‘Our hearts are filled with love’

Congratulations are in order for actor Surbhi Jyoti. The Qubool Hai star and her husband, Sumit Suri, have welcomed their first child, a baby girl, on June 13.

Sharing the happy news, Surbhi took to Instagram and posted an adorable announcement that read, “It’s a girl!” The post featured a subtle rose and soft-light theme, with the date, June 13,  mentioned in the picture.

In the caption, she wrote, “||ॐ॥ Our daughter is here. Our hearts are filled with love and gratitude.”

As soon as she dropped the announcement, fans and celebrities flooded the comments section with congratulatory messages.

Actor Hina Khan commented, “Mashaallah!” while Arjit Taneja wrote, “Congratulations guys!”

Fans were equally excited. One user commented, “The best role of your life begins now — Mom! Congratulations and love to your baby girl.” Another wrote, “Baby Surbhi is hereee ahh so happy for you!! Congratulations!!” A third fan commented, “Wishing your little girl a future filled with happiness, success, and love.”

Recently, Surbhi shared candid moments from her baby shower.

Back in February, Surbhi had announced her pregnancy on Instagram. Speaking to Hindustan Times at the time, she shared how supportive her family had been throughout the journey.

“Ever since we announced the news to our families, they have been all the more happy to welcome the little one. My mom and mother-in-law have been a great support in this journey. From sharing their own experiences to being there in each step I take,” she said.

When asked about her pregnancy experience, Surbhi revealed, “I was hoping that I would have some weird, odd mood swings etc., as it’s said and shown, but it looks like it’s a myth, at least for me. I’ve been eating very normal food and I’m really not craving anything fancy.”

Surbhi and Sumit tied the knot on October 27, 2024, in the presence of close friends and family at a resort in Jim Corbett, Uttarakhand. The couple had a traditional Hindu wedding ceremony. Surbhi wore a red lehenga with intricate thread embroidery paired with gold and silver jewellery, while Sumit opted for a white sherwani.

Sharing wedding pictures at the time, Surbhi had captioned the post, “Shubh Vivah 27/10/24 ❤️♾️.”

One of the most memorable aspects of their wedding was its eco-friendly and sustainability-focused rituals, reflecting the couple’s love for nature.

For the unversed, Surbhi and Sumit first met while working together on the music video Haanji – The Marriage Mantra, where they played a bride and groom.

Surbhi appeared in several Punjabi radio and television shows before becoming a household name as Zoya Farooqui in the hit series Qubool Hai (2012–2016). She later starred as Gitanjali in Koi Laut Ke Aaya Hai and Bela in Naagin 3.
