Jabalpur: Unique honor to the officer before retirement, students gave ‘Besharam’ flowers, prayed to God that “such an officer should not come in future”, know the matter.

In Jabalpur, the students gave such a farewell ceremony to an officer, which perhaps they could not have even imagined. Just two days before his retirement, an officer working as Assistant Commissioner in the Scheduled Tribal Development Department of Jabalpur had to face strong opposition from students. The students entered the officer’s office and presented him ‘Besharam’ flowers and described his entire tenure as full of corruption. The incident occurred ahead of the officer’s retirement on May 31, as his retirement program was to be held two days earlier due to the holiday. The students expressed their displeasure by saying that they would pray to God that no corrupt officer like him should ever hold this position again in future.

Sonelal Ureti, President of Scheduled Caste and Tribe Students Union, expressed his views on this entire matter. He said that ever since he has been posted in the Assistant Commissioner Department, he has only promoted corruption. Government schemes and funds meant for the benefit of students were openly embezzled. Ureti said that although the retirement of the Assistant Commissioner was to take place on Friday, but due to the holiday this program was being organized earlier, which the students protested in their own way.

Problems never paid attention to: Students allege

The student union president further said that the officer had assumed charge only about a year ago. The students allege that if we start enumerating the reasons for their protest, a very long list will be prepared. Boys and girls used to come from hostels to the department’s office with their different problems, but their problems were never paid attention to by the Assistant Commissioner. Neither any concrete action was taken by him nor the students got justice. Every time the students were turned back after giving only empty assurances. The students say that being fed up with all these problems, they were finally forced to hold such a protest against the Assistant Commissioner.

Postings were done through money transactions, big claim of students

Student Union Vice President Mahesh Ahirwar said that Assistant Commissioner CK Dubey had been posted in this department only a year ago. The direct allegation of the students is that no interest of the students was seen during his tenure. During his entire tenure, new postings have been taking place only on the basis of money transactions. Student leader Mahesh explained in detail that ever since the tenure of CK Dubey started, the students are continuously troubled. Whenever students go to his cabin with their complaints, no attention is paid to them.

Making a serious allegation, Mahesh said that if a superintendent exploits children, tortures them, or does not feed them properly, and the students complain about it to the Assistant Commissioner, then the Assistant Commissioner takes money and reinstates that superintendent. Not only this, they are removed from the old hostel and posted in the new hostel, so that they can continue their wrongdoings. Students say that in protest against this corruption and arbitrariness, today they have made this unique demonstration in the office of the Assistant Commissioner, so that their voice can be heard and such officers can be controlled in future.
