Now in its third year, the program has expanded beyond academic achievement to include criteria such as resilience, determination and community contribution. According to Jabil Vietnam, the initiative is aligned with Jabil Cares, the company’s global community engagement platform focused on education, empowerment and environmental sustainability.
This year’s program placed particular emphasis on supporting students from disadvantaged backgrounds, people with disabilities, women pursuing engineering careers, and students in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) fields.
“At Jabil, we believe in the power of education and continuous learning,” said Khanh Nguyen, Jabil’s operations director in Vietnam. “Learning creates opportunities, transforms lives and strengthens communities. The scholarship program is designed not only to provide financial assistance but also to encourage lifelong learning and talent development, both within Jabil and in the wider community.”

Jabil partnered with 19 universities in Ho Chi Minh City for this year’s program and received more than 300 applications from students. Shortlisted candidates participated in interviews with company representatives, discussing their academic achievements, personal experiences, community involvement and future goals.
In addition to financial support, scholarship recipients may access training, mentorship, internship opportunities and potential career pathways within the company. The total value of scholarships awarded to external recipients was approximately VND600 million (US$23,000).
Among the recipients was Huynh Ngoc Hieu, who spoke at the award ceremony about his aspirations to contribute to greater accessibility for people with disabilities.
“The Jabil scholarship represents an important step toward my goal of helping create a more accessible city for people with disabilities, particularly those who are visually impaired,” Hieu said. He added that learning about Jabil’s employment of people with disabilities had been meaningful to him.
Hieu concluded his remarks by saying: “A limitation in sight does not mean a limitation in vision.”

Alongside student scholarships, Jabil Vietnam continues to support employee development through an internal scholarship program. This year, 23 employees received scholarships intended to help them pursue further education while balancing academic and professional responsibilities.
Huu Binh, Site Senior Finance Controller, said the initiative reflects the company’s approach to employee development and leadership cultivation.
“By providing employees with structured development opportunities, we help them build meaningful careers, strengthen leadership capabilities and learn from experienced professionals throughout their career journey,” he said.
According to the company, Jabil has expanded its education, sustainability and community programs in Vietnam in recent years as part of its broader corporate responsibility efforts. The scholarship initiative has become one of its key programs supporting educational access and professional development.
Looking ahead, Jabil Vietnam said it plans to strengthen partnerships with educational institutions and expand support programs for both students and employees. “By intentionally supporting women in engineering, students from disadvantaged backgrounds, people with disabilities, and those who asprire to develop themselves, we hope to inspire a new generation of transformational leaders capable of driving innovation with empathy and purpose,” said Tin Phung, Senior Business Unit Manager at Jabil in Vietnam.
Headquartered in St. Petersburg, Florida, United States of America, Jabil is an engineering-led, supply chain-enabled manufacturing company with 60 years of experience across industries and a vast network of over 100 sites worldwide.
