Jackie Chan makes rare public appearance with son Jaycee
Hong Kong martial arts legend Jackie Chan was spotted sharing a rare public moment with his son Jaycee Chan in the southern Chinese city of Huizhou.

According to The Star on Thursday, photos circulating on social media show Jackie Chan, now 72, walking side by side with Jaycee Chan, his arm draped casually over his son’s shoulder as he gestures ahead during their conversation. Witnesses described the interaction as lively and genuine, noting that Jaycee, 44, listened attentively as the pair exchanged laughter.
The public outing marks a notable moment for the duo, whose relationship has faced challenges in the past. According to 8daysJackie has acknowledged that his relationship with Jaycee became strained due to his strict parenting style and frequent criticism. Tensions worsened following Jaycee’s 2014 drug scandal, during which Jackie publicly expressed disappointment and emphasized that he would not use his influence to intervene.
“In the past, whenever I saw my son, I scolded him,” Jackie said in an interview last year. “Whenever I went on television, I criticized him. I never said a kind word.”
The veteran actor added that he now regrets his approach and has since expressed a desire for his son’s well-being and happiness.
Jackie, widely regarded as one of the most iconic martial arts actors in film history, has appeared in more than 150 films over a career spanning six decades.
Jaycee is his only child with his wife, Taiwanese actress Joan Lin, whom he married in 1982. Jackie also has a daughter, Etta Ng, from a previous extramarital affair with Hong Kong actress and beauty queen Elaine Ng.
