Jaguar Land Rover Posts 36 Percent Growth In First Half Of 2025 Model Year

Jaguar Land Rover has stated that they have seen a 36% growth year-on-year in the first half of the 2025 model year. They got a 31% growth in the first quarter and a 41% growth in the second quarter. They sold 3,214 units in total and this is their best half yearly performance yet.

The heavy hitters were obviously the Defender and the full size Range Rover, the latter of which is locally produced now which has helped them bring down the price and garner more customers. JLR experienced a 15% growth in the first half of the FY25 compared to the same period last year. The local manufacturing of Range Rover models has been a successful move for them and JLR saw a 60% increase in orders. The Defender saw 75% growth in H1 FY25.

Range Rover also launched the first ever India specific special model called the Ranthambore Edition which was created by the the JLR Special Vehicles Operations. All 12 units of the Ranthambore Edition have been pre-booked. The special edition model is a first of its kind and Range Rover will forward the proceeds from the sales of this model to the Wildlife Conservation Trust Of India.

Land Rover has been growing quite a bit in popularity recently. Their all SUV portfolio and desirable vehicles means that they will see similar growth in the coming months and years. They expect to keep a steady growth in the market with the upcoming Festive season as well supporting their sales with a customer focused approach. Land Rover is also investing heavily to increase local production with their new Tamil Nadu plant which was recently acquired from Ford.
