Jai Moondra prepared for Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, Ends T20 series as India’s top-order destroyer

New Delhi: For a week before the two-match T20I series against India, Jai Moondra focused on creating a strategy to counter teenage batting sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. The 15-year-old was widely expected to make his international debut, but the Indian team management decided to continue with its World Cup-winning combination.

Although Sooryavanshi did not feature in the series, Moondra’s preparation helped him make a strong impact. The left-arm fast bowler claimed five wickets across the two matches, including a match-winning spell of 3 for 32 in the second T20I.

Moondra’s impressive performance came with the new ball, where he troubled India’s top order and dismissed key batsmen including Sanju Samson, Abhishek Sharma, and Shreyas Iyer.

The bowler’s ability to execute his plans against a high-quality Indian batting lineup highlighted his growing confidence and skill at the international level.

Despite missing the chance to face Sooryavanshi, Moondra’s preparation showed the importance of planning and adaptability in competitive cricket.
