Jharkhand Election: Jharkhand Loktantrik Krantikari Morcha (JLKM) chief Jairam Mahato will also contest elections from Bermo along with Dumri. It is worth noting that from Bermo seat, which was part of Congress in five assembly elections including by-elections, JMM candidate Mathura Mahato, supported by India Alliance, got only 5790 votes more than Jairam in the Lok Sabha elections. Talking about Dumri seat, while JMM has made the last by-election winner Baby Devi its candidate this time, AJSU party is still in a dilemma as to who should be made its candidate to take on JMM and JLKM. However, in last year's assembly by-election, JMM's Baby Devi got 1 lakh 317 votes, while AJSU's Yashoda Devi stood second by getting 83,164 votes.

JMM won Dumri consecutively and Congress won thrice in Bermo. If we look at the history of Dumri seat, Lalchand Mahato from JDU had won in the 2000 assembly elections. This seat has been with JMM since the formation of the state. JMM's Jagarnath Mahato won consecutively in 2005, 2009, 2014 and 2019. In the by-election held after the death of Jagarnath Mahato last year, his wife Baby Devi defeated Yashoda Devi of AJSU Party by 17,153 votes. Whereas in Bermo, BJP won in 2005, Congress in 2009, BJP in 2014, again in 2019 and Congress won in 2020 by-election.
