Jaishankar Gave a detailed statement in the Rajya Sabha on Monday. He said that the ongoing war in the Middle East and the devastation caused by it is a matter of grave concern for India.

The External Affairs Minister stressed in the Rajya Sabha that India is in favor of peace, restraint and return to diplomacy. He said, “We are working towards the safety of common people, reducing tension and finding solutions through dialogue.” He also reminded that the government 20 February had already expressed deep concern and appealed to all parties to exercise restraint.
Jaishankar clarified that the Indian Embassy is fully active and on high alert to ensure the safety of the citizens trapped in the troubled area. He said, “Our aim is to restore normalcy in the area as soon as possible and bring back the Indian community safely.”
