Sources reveal that in the year 2022, tank construction work was started in all 230 villages of the district, for which a budget of about Rs 500 crore was approved. The contract for the construction work was awarded to two companies, to whom Rs 254 crore has been paid. Despite this, the work is incomplete in most of the villages. For the last one and a half years, construction has completely stopped at many places and the construction contractors and laborers are not even paying attention. The situation is such that whatever construction has been done is now falling into disrepair.
Shamli District Magistrate Arvind Kumar Chauhan, while asking for complete details, directed the officials to complete the incomplete works as soon as possible. Along with this, the question has also been raised that when Rs 254 crore out of Rs 500 crore has been released, then why was the construction work not completed? Instructions have been given to take action against the guilty companies.
Jal Nigam’s XEN Phool Kumar (XEN Jal Nigam) said that notices have been issued several times to the executing agencies JMC Lakshmi and Gayatri, but no response is coming. Efforts are being made to start work again. If the work does not start soon, action will be taken to blacklist the concerned institutions.
