James Van Der Beek’s friends start GoFundMe to help family after death
James Van Der Beek’s friends are raising funds for the deceased.
After the death of Dawson’s Creek actor on February 11, his wife, Kimberly Van Der Beek, shared a link to a GoFundMe account via Instagram after sharing his death.
“My friends created this link to support me and my children during this time,” she wrote with the link. “With gratitude and a broken heart.”
The GoFundMe page pays tribute to the actor, who fought colorectal cancer. The statement called him “a beloved husband, father, and friend who left a lasting impact on everyone he knew.”
“Throughout his illness, the family faced not only emotional challenges but also significant financial strain as they did everything possible to support James and provide for his care,” it added.
Following James’s death, Kimberly and their children are facing a challenging and uncertain future. The family’s finances have been heavily impacted by his medical expenses and long fight with cancer.
They are working to keep their home and provide stability for the children, including continuing their education, during this difficult period. Community support will play a vital role in helping them move forward.
“Your generosity will help cover essential living expenses, pay bills, and support the children’s education,” The GoFundMe page concluded the statement. “Every donation, no matter the size, will give Kimberly and her family hope and security as they rebuild their lives. Thank you for considering a gift to support them.”
The campaign’s goal is set at $500,000, and as of this story’s publication, it has raised $158,000.
