Jammu and Kashmir: Military vehicle falls into deep gorge in Doda, 10 soldiers killed

Srinagar, 22 January. On Thursday, a military vehicle slipped off the road and fell into a deep gorge in Doda, Jammu and Kashmir. In this accident, 10 soldiers lost their lives while other soldiers were injured. Local people and rescue teams together rescued the injured.

Giving information about the accident, military officials said that on Thursday, a bulletproof vehicle was carrying 17 soldiers towards a post located in a high altitude area, when it slipped off the road near Khani Top located on the Bhadarwah-Chamba interstate road area of ​​Doda and fell into a ditch about 200 feet deep. 10 soldiers lost their lives in this accident while other soldiers were seriously injured.

As soon as information about the accident was received, a joint team of army and police immediately started the rescue operation. Local people also arrived to help the police and rescue teams. Bodies of 10 soldiers were recovered in the rescue operation. The injured soldiers were taken out, the condition of many of them is said to be critical. The injured soldiers have been taken by helicopter to the Command Hospital in Udhampur, where they are being given special treatment.

The Army has issued a statement saying that investigation into the accident has been started and better treatment is being provided to the injured soldiers. The families of the soldiers who lost their lives in the accident have been informed.
