Jammu and Kashmir: Three prisoners including two Pakistanis escape after firing at guards, high alert in entire district

The picture that emerged from the Juvenile Observation Home located at RS Pura in Jammu and Kashmir on Monday evening created a stir in the entire area. In a sensational incident captured on CCTV cameras, three prisoners, including two Pakistani nationals, attacked security personnel and escaped. After the incident, security agencies are on alert in the entire Jammu district and a large-scale search operation is being conducted.

How did the prisoners escape?

This incident happened at around 5:15 pm on Monday evening at the Observation Home of RS Pura in the border area. According to the police, those who escaped have been identified as Karajit Singh alias Gugga (resident of Doublehar, RS Pura), Mohammad Suna-ullah and Ahsan Anwar. It is being told that the three first suddenly attacked two policemen on duty and then took advantage of the opportunity and escaped from there.

In the CCTV footage, a prisoner was seen pointing his weapon at the security personnel and opening fire inside the complex. Initial investigation has revealed that a country-made pistol was somehow smuggled inside the jail. Now the police is investigating how the weapon reached inside and whose negligence was there.

Special police officer Vinay Kumar and head constable Praveen Kumar were injured in the attack. Both of them were first taken to the sub-district hospital, where after first aid they were admitted to the Government Medical College Hospital. According to doctors, his condition is currently said to be stable.

After leaving the jail, the accused allegedly snatched a motorcycle at gunpoint and quickly fled from there. It is feared that they may move towards the national highway or the border. Keeping this in mind, special blockades have been put in place on the roads leading to Samba district and several temporary check posts have been established.

Immediately after the incident, Jammu Police formed special teams. Raids are being conducted at many places and intensive investigation is going on in suspicious areas. Senior officials also visited the spot and reviewed the security arrangements. Possible flaws in the functioning and security of the jail administration are also being investigated. This incident has not only raised questions on the security arrangements, but has also highlighted the need for vigilance in the border area.
