International Marathon started in Jammu and Kashmir, Sunil Shetty and JK CM Omar Abdullah showed the green flag.

Srinagar: This time Kashmir has organized International Marathon for the first time. During this marathon, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and actor Sunil Shetty flagged off Kashmir's first International Marathon from the Polo Stadium in Srinagar.

Kashmir is going to host International Marathon for the first time. This time more than 2000 athletes have participated in this marathon. Tourism Director Kashmir Raja Yakub Farooq informed that more than 2 thousand athletes including international level top athletes are taking part in this Kashmir Marathon. The main objective of organizing this marathon is to show that the law and order situation in the valley has improved.

Jammu and Kashmir is heaven for the world

Actor Sunil Shetty said, “People want to come to Kashmir and this kind of event gives a message to the whole world that people from all over the world are coming here to participate in it and it is a big thing… This (Jammu and Kashmir) is a big thing for the world.” Heaven is for…”

Information given in press conference

The director said in the press conference on Saturday, top athletes from all over the world have arrived here. We have top Indian runners, Asian gold medal winners, some top runners from Europe and Africa. The Tourism Department has received registrations of 2,030 athletes from all over the world. 59 athletes from 13 countries and 29 top athletes from different states and union territories will participate in the marathon.

Marathon will promote adventure tourism

Actor Sunil Shetty said that it will 100% promote adventure tourism and will also become a part of the shooting destination of films.

Actor Suniel Shetty said on International Kashmir Marathon 2024, “It is very exciting that so many children are excited about it, it is great to see. A marathon in heaven, it doesn't get much better than this. 100% it will promote (adventure tourism)… Kashmir is known for its beauty, I think the world is waiting to come here. There were more than 11-15 participants from all countries, which shows how safe and beautiful it is… A lot of films have been shot here, and we are excited to come back to Kashmir to shoot.”
