Jamui incident: Firing at mosque after namaz, 4 injured referred to Patna
A heart-wrenching incident shook the area on Sunday evening in Jakhara village of Sikandra police station area in Jamui district of Bihar. After Roza and Iftar, the attackers started firing indiscriminately at the people who came out of the mosque after offering namaz. Four youths were seriously injured in this incident which took place around 7 pm.
Numan Khan, Mofiz Khan, Arbaaz Khan and Armaan Khan, who were the targets of the bullets, were shot in the chest, neck and shoulder. The villagers immediately took the injured to Sadar Hospital, where the doctors after first aid referred everyone to Patna Medical. Numan Khan’s condition remains most critical.
During interrogation it was revealed that this was the result of old rivalry. Six months ago, there was a fight over a dispute over grazing cattle in the fields. The accused group had got bail from the police station and the case is pending in the court. In this fire, Numan Khan alias Nato, his sons Numan, Gufran, Abdullah and Shamim Khan ambushed near the mosque.
The village has been divided into two groups, tension is at its peak. Forces from three police stations are deployed to maintain peace. SDPO Satish Suman said that all the accused have been identified based on the statements of the injured. Raids intensified, assurance of arrest soon. Family members are alert in hospitals, demanding justice.
