New Delhi. The controversy regarding the film ‘Jana Nayakan’ is now gaining momentum. The matter of the release of the film has reached the Supreme Court. The Madras High Court’s decision on the release of the film ‘Jana Nayakan’ has been challenged in the Supreme Court. At the same time, now politics has also started regarding this matter. Congress MP and leader of opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi has targeted the Modi government.

Rahul Gandhi wrote on social media X, the attempt by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting to stop ‘Jana Nayakan’ is an attack on Tamil culture. Mr. Modi, you will never succeed in suppressing the voice of Tamil people. Let us tell you that just before the release of the film ‘Jana Nayakan’, a controversy has arisen regarding the censor certificate. This film was scheduled to be released in theaters on January 9 but till now the film has not received the certificate from the Censor Board.

Let us tell you that South’s superstar actor Thalapathy Vijay’s film ‘Jana Nayakan’ is continuously in the headlines these days. The film was submitted to the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) on 18 December 2025 and was scheduled to release on 9 January. But its release was postponed due to delay in censor certificate. The Censor Board has raised objections to some scenes and dialogues of the film. The Board believes that there are some political comments in the film which can create controversy. For this reason there was a delay in getting the certificate of the film. But it is not just that.
