Jannat Zubair took a brutal dig at Shilpa Shinde after her derogatory comments about Shivangi Joshi’s personal life on Lock Up: Sach Ya Sazaa.
During episode 15 of the reality show, which premiered on Tuesday, July 14, the 48-year-old Indian actress and politician character-assassinated Joshi, 28, accusing her of being involved with several male co-stars and making remarks about her virginity.
After the clips took the internet by storm, Zubair, 24, took to her Instagram Stories a day later to stand by the What is this relationship called? actress and criticise the personal remarks made about her.
“It’s strange how easily people choose to judge someone’s character without really knowing them,” she wrote on her Stories while sharing a picture of Joshi from the show.
Zubair added, “I’ve known Shivangi for years, and I know the values she carries and the person she is. That’s why watching her being spoken about this way doesn’t sit right with me. You can disagree with someone, call out their actions, or have a different perspective. But attacking a woman’s character should never become entertainment.”
The backlash comes after Shinde, who joined Lock Up Season 2 as its first wildcard contestant, made several comments about Joshi’s personal life while speaking with fellow contestant Shreya Kalra.
