This earthquake was felt near the Sanriku coast of northern Japan. People have been advised to remain alert.
While issuing a tsunami alert, it has been said that there is a danger of waves up to 10 feet. Earthquake tremors were also felt in the capital Tokyo, and big buildings started shaking.
