Japanese retail chain Daiso to close third Singapore outlet this year
Japanese retail chain Daiso is set to shutter its Tampines 1 outlet later in June after 14 years in operation, its third Singapore closure in 2026.
The outlet will open for its last day on June 21 before officially closing the next day, according to the chain’s Facebook post on Saturday. “We thank you for your continuous support at DAISO TAMPINES 1 over the years,” the post read.
The store has been operating since 2012, according to the Daiso Singapore website.

The closure follows the shutdown of Daiso’s outlets at 100 AM mall in January and Sembawang Shopping Centre in early April. The retailer also closed its store at Kinex last July, as reported by AsiaOne.
Daiso made its Singapore debut in 2002 with the launch of its flagship outlet at IMM. It introduced its Threeppy concept, which features a range of “cute and fashionable items,” in 2019 with its outlet at Funan Mall, according to Stomp.
The chain is known for charging a flat S$2 (US$1.55) price for its cheapest products and as high as S$20 for certain specialized items, excluding tax.
It had 32 stores in Singapore as of April 21, with the newest being the 71 Kallang Bahru store launched earlier this year, according to its website.
