Jaspal Rana Passes Away: Former world shooting champion and veteran Indian shooter Jaspal Rana has said goodbye to the world at the age of 49. Rana breathed his last in a Delhi hospital on Friday. The news of his demise has created a wave of mourning in the sports world. At the same time, many leaders including PM Narendra Modi and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh have expressed grief over the demise of the former international shooter.

According to media reports, Jaspal Rana was the high performance coach of the Indian team that went to participate in the ISF World Cup. After his brilliant performance in this World Cup, he was returning from Munich to New Delhi with the Indian team. But, he felt uncomfortable during the journey from Munich to New Delhi. At the same time, as soon as the flight landed at Delhi airport, Rana was taken to Max Hospital in Saket. Where Jaspal Rana died on Friday morning during treatment.
Let us tell you that Jaspal Rana, originally a resident of Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand, had won gold medals for India in the World Shooting Championship and Asian Games. Rana has played an important role in popularizing shooting in the country. Rana was awarded the Padma Shri in 2002 for his outstanding contribution in the field of shooting.
PM Narendra Modi and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh have expressed deep grief over the demise of Jaspal Rana by posting on social media platform X. PM Modi wrote in the X Post, “Deeply saddened by the demise of Shri Jaspal Rana ji. His demise is a huge loss for the Indian sports world. He brought glory to the country with his extraordinary achievements in shooting. His contribution as a mentor was also very important; he nurtured and guided the young players with full dedication. He earned a lot of respect due to his excellent performance, discipline and unwavering devotion towards the service of the sports world. In this hour of grief, my condolences to his family, friends and the entire sports world.” Om Shanti.”
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh wrote on Twitter, “Jaspal was an excellent player and coach as well as an easy-going, simple and very good-natured person. He had a very influential role in popularizing shooting as a sport in India.”
