Jasprit Bumrah bamboozled Mushfiqur Rahim with this magical delivery

India’s hopes, when they need to break a partnership, are most often vested upon Jasprit Bumrah, and it was Bumrah today, on Day 4 of the second Test match against Bangladesh in Kanpur who shifted the chances into the team’s favor when he delivered the first wicket. After the second and third days of the Test match were rained off and the outfield thoroughly wet, the match was on again and India’s captain Rohit Sharma tossed the ball to Bumrah to take the 4th wicket of Bangladesh. Burmah however did not have to wait for long to draw first blood, getting Mushfiqur Rahim out in the third over of the day.

This was one of those typical deliveries from Bumrah which the batter read so badly that he gave up his attempt to play it. Assuming it to be an outswing delivery, Rahim chose to ignore it but was taken aback when it shattered the stumps. A baffled Rahim could do nothing but turn back and head for the dressing room.

This was Bumrah’s first wicket of the match after Akash Deep and Ravichandran Ashwin snapped up two and one wickets respectively.

Finally, on the fourth day of India’s second Test match against Bangladesh, play began again after heavy rains and an unplayable outfield had resulted in the cancellation of the previous day’s play.

Bangladesh were 107-3 in their first innings when the fourth day began with bright sunshine at Kanpur and Mominul Haque not out on 40 and Mushfiqur Rahim on six.

Before bad light caused the umpires to take the players off the field for the first time on Friday, a total of only 35 overs had been possible on that day, nine overs after which play was halted for the day following lunch.

India leads the two-match series 1-0 as they triumphed in the first test held in Chennai by 280 runs.
