At the age of 19, Jasprit Bumrah made his debut for Gujarat in the 2013–14 Ranji Trophy season. He took 7 wickets in the second innings of his very first match. In the same season, he was the highest wicket taker for Gujarat. For this reason, IPL scouts noticed him. Mumbai Indians bought him for Rs 10 lakh in the 2013 IPL auction. After this, Bumrah became the most important bowler of Mumbai Indians with his bowling.
