According to a report, Indian cricket team’s premium pacer Jasprit Bumrah is ready to get included in the 15-member squad for Champions Trophy 2025. There had been a lot of conversations around Bumrah’s availability after he suffered an injury in his bask during the final Test match against Australia in Sydney.

The report also claims that Bumrah will be included in the side, however, his participation will be “subject to fitness“. The report also states that “selectors want Bumrah to play at least one competitive match before the Champions Trophy to assess his fitness and make a final decision“. However, according to the report, there is not going to be any place for Sanju Samson or Karun Nair in the squad.

Karun Nair came in as a sudden choice for the selectors, as he had a spectacular run in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Karun has been consistent throughout the competition, as he has scored 752 runs in 8 matches.

However, the rep0ort also claims that “selectors feel that it would be unwise to recall Nair, who last represented India in 2017, just before a major tournament“.

On the other hand, wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson got selected in the squad for the T20Is against England, but will most likely not be having similar chance when it comes to Champions Trophy. According to the report, he is not going to be considered for the two series and one of the reasons was the fact that he did not appear in the Vijay Hazare Trophy.

The report claims that the selectors were not happy with his absence as BCCI has pushed for the national team players to appear in domestic competitions.
