'I started laughing, unbelievable sources', Bumrah made fun of those giving 'fake news'

Delhi: Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah on Wednesday rejected the media report which said that he has been advised bed rest due to the back injury suffered during the Sydney Test match. The 31-year-old Bumrah termed the news as “fake news” and called it a cause for laughter and called the source “unreliable”.

Question on participation in Champions Trophy

There is still confusion regarding Bumrah's participation in the upcoming Champions Trophy. A new report in Times of India said that Bumrah has been advised to take bed rest at home. However, the clear diagnosis of his injury has not been revealed yet.

According to the report, a source said, “Bumrah can go to CoE next week, but there is no fixed date yet. At present, he has been advised to take rest at home so that the swelling of the muscles can reduce. Only after this will the further treatment be decided.”

Bumrah made fun

Jasprit Bumrah responded to a tweet making fun of this report. Information about him was given in this tweet, which was later deleted. Bumrah wrote, “I know it is easy to spread fake news, but reading this news made me laugh. The sources are unreliable.”

Selectors eye final medical report

The upcoming schedule of the Indian team is very busy. There is also to be a home series against England, Champions Trophy, IPL and a Test series in England. The selectors are still waiting for Bumrah's final medical report. However, the last date for changes in the team is till February 13, so the selection committee has some time to take a decision.
