Bumrah injured again? BCCI’s Center of Excellence reached before the start of IPL, know the whole story

Delhi: Now only 5 days are left for the start of IPL 2026. Before the start of the tournament, a bad news has come out for the fans of Mumbai Indians. Actually, MI fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has reached BCCI’s Center of Excellence.

However, it is not yet clear whether he has gone there due to some injury or it is a routine checkup.

According to the report of Times of India, Bumrah is currently present in this center in Karnataka and he has not joined the MI team yet.

Is Bumrah injured?

Last week, the team’s head coach and former Sri Lankan captain Mahila Jayawardene had told that 4 players of Mumbai Indians, who were included in the Indian team’s squad in the T20 World Cup, have been given a slightly longer break.

Jayawardene had said at an MI event,

‘Every season our target is to reach the IPL trophy, but I know it is a long season. So the pre-season will start like we usually do. Working hard and incorporating new players into the setup. As far as our T20 World Cup players are concerned, we have given them a slightly longer break so that they can join us next week. Overseas players had also gone to their homes and now they will return. He will get a full week to train with us before the first match.

Bumrah took 13 wickets in T20 World Cup

Fast bowler Bumrah proved to be India’s biggest match winner in the T20 World Cup. He was joint in terms of taking the most wickets in the tournament. Bumrah had taken 13 wickets in 8 matches. During this period he spent runs at an economy rate of 6.21. 4/15 was Bumrah’s best performance, which was seen against New Zealand in the final.

When is the first match of Mumbai Indians?

In IPL 2026, Mumbai team led by Hardik Pandya will start its campaign against Kolkata Knight Riders. This match will be played on March 29 at 7:30 pm at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
