Jasprit Bumrah records joint-highest rating by an Indian bowler in ICC Test Rankings for Bowlers

Jasprit Bumrah achieved the joint-highest rating ever recorded by an Indian in the ICC Test Rankings for Bowlers. He took nine wickets in the third Test against Australia at the Gabba in Brisbane.

Bumrah gained 14 points, taking his tally to 904 rating points, which the recently retired off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin had accomplished in December 2016 after the fourth red-ball game against the visiting England at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Bumrah’s 21 wickets from three Tests so far have increased his lead at the top by 48 rating points. South Africa pacer Kagiso Rabada (856) and Australia seamer Josh Hazlewood (852) are second and third.

Head’s knock of 152 in the first innings of the third Test has helped the southpaw to go past Yashasvi Jaiswal to fourth spot in the ICC Test Rankings for Batters led by former England captain Joe Root. India’s KL Rahul is in the 40th spot, while Ravindra Jadeja is 42nd.

The ICC Men’s ODI Player Rankings see the star performers of the South Africa-Pakistan ODI series make handsome gains.

Saim Ayub, who amassed 109, 25, and 101 in Pakistan’s 3-0 victory over South Africa, has reached 23rd position, while Heinrich Klaasen is back among the top five batters after posting 86, 97, and 81.

In the ICC T20I Rankings for Bowlers, Bangladesh’s Mahedi Hasan is back in the top 10, while Roston Chase is in 13th position.
