Indian squad for the upcoming Champions Trophy 2025 is going to be announced on Saturday, January 18. Ajit Agarkar, the chairman of the selection committee, along with skipper Rohit Sharma, is going to address a press conference in the afternoon to reveal India’s squad for both the Champions Trophy and ODI series against England. India will face England in a three-match ODI series at home, before shifting their focus to Champions Trophy.
According to a source, it has been learnt that the selection committee held a virtual meeting with captain Rohit Sharma and head coach Gautam Gambhir in order to discuss India’s squad.
The suspense around Jasprit Bumrah’s presence in the Champions Trophy is finally going to end tomorrow. However, it has been learnt that Bumrah is likely going to be included in India’s squad for Champions Trophy. However, Bumrah’s participation depends on his fitness. To prove his fitness, Bumrah will appear in the ODI series against England, set to begin February 6.
During the recently-concluded Border-Gavaskar Trophy, star pacer Jasprit Bumrah suffered a back pain. He felt uncomfortable on the second Day of the Sydney Test, and was eventually sent for scans after he got forced to leave the field midway through the match.
