Jasprit Bumrah started practicing with red ball, preparing to return from England ODI and Sri Lanka Test series

Indian cricket team’s experienced fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has once again stepped up preparations to return to the field. In fact, he has shared his pictures on social media while bowling with red ball in Ahmedabad, which clearly indicates that now his focus is on the upcoming international series. At present, he has been given rest from T-20 matches so that he can make a comeback in the longer format after being fully fit.

Actually, after IPL, Bumrah is practicing with the home team of Gujarat. The team management is also keeping a special eye on his fitness. Being a fast bowler, keeping his workload balanced is considered an important part of the Indian team’s strategy.

International will return from England ODI series

Actually, the biggest milestone of Jasprit Bumrah’s comeback will be the three-match ODI series against England starting from July 14. He played his last ODI match on 19 November 2023 in the World Cup final against Australia. After this, he remained away from this format due to injury and workload management. Now he is going to return to the ODI team after about 968 days. This comeback is considered very important for the Indian team because many big international matches are to be played in the next few months. Apart from taking wickets with the new ball, Bumrah is also considered to be India’s most reliable bowler in the death overs.

IPL 2026 was disappointing

Actually, the IPL 2026 season was not as expected for Jasprit Bumrah. Playing for Mumbai Indians, he took only 4 wickets in 13 matches. His figures this time were not up to his level, but after this he answered the critics by making a brilliant comeback in the T20 World Cup. In the T20 World Cup 2026, Bumrah achieved the position of the highest wicket taker by taking 14 wickets in 8 innings. He was also chosen Player of the Match after taking 4 wickets for 15 runs against New Zealand in the final match. Now his eyes will be on the two-Test series against Sri Lanka in August after the England ODI series.
