Jasprit Bumrah will soon join Mumbai Indians Gujarati

Mumbai Indians’ star fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah is doubtful to play against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on 7 April. However, according to a report, Bumrah will return to the field in the coming days. Recently, Bumrah has been working on his bowling workload at the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Center of Excellence and is said to be in the final rounds of fitness tests. After getting the green signal from the BCCI medical team, Bumrah will join the Mumbai Indians team and participate in IPL 2025. Bumrah is being cautious about his comeback and wants to ensure that he is completely fit before entering the game. It is known that after the 18th season of IPL, India has to play a five-match Test series in England.

Mumbai Indians have played three matches so far in the current season of IPL, out of which they have lost two matches and won one match. In the absence of Bumrah, the team has given debut opportunities to Satyanarayan Raju, Vignesh Puthur and Ashwini Kumar. While Trent Boult, Deepak Chahar and Hardik Pandya are also taking charge of the fast bowling attack. The last information about Bumrah was given on March 19, before the start of IPL 2025. Mumbai head coach Mahela Jayawardene had opined how challenging Bumrah’s absence would be for the team.

It was believed that Bumrah would not be able to play IPL matches in March, but he would join the team in April. Bumrah has not been able to return to the field yet. Bumrah has not been able to play any competitive match since January 2025. He played in the fifth and final match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia. However, he bowled only in the first innings and could not play much after that. Bumrah was also initially selected for the Champions Trophy but later Harshit Rana was included in the team in his place.

Bumrah’s IPL career started in 2013 with Mumbai Indians in which he made his debut against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and took three wickets for 32 runs in four overs. In the last 12 years, Bumrah has played 133 IPL matches for Mumbai in which he has taken 165 wickets. He is one of four bowlers in the history of IPL to take five wickets in a match twice.
