Akhtar, known for his outspoken views on various subjects, responded to a user on Saturday and said, “It is difficult to decide whether you are completely ignorant or a complete idiot.”
He said, “My family has been involved in the freedom movement since 1857 and went to jail and Kala Pani when your ancestors were probably licking the soles of the British government.”

Javed Akhtar's great-grandfather Fazal-e-Haq Khairabadi was a freedom fighter who took part in the 1857 rebellion against the rule of the British East India Company. Khairabadi was sentenced to life imprisonment in the Cellular Jail called Kalapani in the Andaman Islands, where he died in 1864.
Javed Akhtar wrote on 'X' that the former First Lady of the United States, Michelle Obama, can save the United States from Biden's Republican rival, former President Donald Trump, in the upcoming elections. He said that I have expressed my opinion many times before and I still maintain that only Michelle Obama can save America.
