JD Vance’s praise of Pakistan earns rebuff from US senators with terror-loving track records Amid U.S. :
Read, Digital Desk : Vice President J.D. Vance’s warm reception in Islamabad with both Republican senators taking swipe at Qatar, Pakistan’s habit of giving haven to terrorists was cited.
The GOP duo slammed as unreliable two American allies amid the looming Iran nuclear deal and suggested that Washington prioritize other partners for peace negotiations.“
It should be crystal clear to everyone at this point who our real allies are. Qatar and Pakistan have a long history of harboring terrorists and are currently more focused on funding Iran’s 40+ year terrorist war than helping to bring about real peace,” wrote U.S. Senator Rick Scott in a Monday post on the X platform, formerly known as Twitter. Senate Republicans reference bin Laden The Florida senator’s tweet came in response to Vance’s assertion in Switzerland – where he met with Pakistani and Qatari leaders to iron out details of a peace agreement with Tehran – that “we love Pakistan.”“
There remains a potential pathway for a mutually beneficial agreement.
But everybody must understand that Iran is not going to walk away from this deal without nuclear weapons,” added Scott. “So-called negotiations” Similarly, U.S. Senator Tim Sheehy called into question Pakistan’s historical decision to harb or al-Qaida terrorist leader Osama bin Laden during an interview Monday with Fox News.
“We have to remember that Pakistan harbored bin Laden for a decade. They funded the Ayatollah through the ISI [Inter-Services Intelligence],” said Sheehy. “There needs to be room at the table for Saudi Arabia, Israel and the UAE for sure if they bring in Pakistan and Qatar,” Sheehy said if the negotiations include the two nations.
Sheehy stated that “the UAE and Israel are America’s true allies in the Middle East.”
According to Sheehy, “Qatar has been laundering money for terrorists for years … the Pakistanis and the ISI are the reason we havehad insurgencies against us and Pakistan Harbored Osama bin Laden, so the notion that they’re going to come out here and act as if they’re sort of this above-the- fray neutral arbitrator frankly doesn’t sit right with me. We have to really show strong backing to the United Arab Emirates and Israel, as ultimately in any scenario they are going to be our very closest allies in the region,” said Sheehy.
