Expressing grief over this incident, Samajwadi Party National President Akhilesh Yadav wrote on his post that the news of death of 10 children and injury of many children due to fire in Jhansi Medical College is very sad and worrying. Emotional tribute to everyone.
Mr. Yadav said that the cause of the fire is being said to be the fire in the 'Oxygen Concentrator'. This is either a direct case of negligence of medical management and administration or of poor quality oxygen concentrator. Punitive action should be taken against all those responsible in this case. Chief Minister should leave the election campaign and 'false claims of everything being fine' and focus on the poor condition of health and medicine. Only those families who have lost their children can understand their pain. This is not only a government but also a moral responsibility. It is hoped that in this hour of family crisis, those doing election politics will get a true inquiry done and will make radical changes in their so-called Health and Medical Ministry from top to bottom. He said that as far as the 'Health and Medical Minister' of Uttar Pradesh is concerned, we have nothing to say to him because it is because of him that the health and medical system in Uttar Pradesh is in such a bad state today. UP Deputy Chief Minister and Health Minister Brajesh Pathak, busy in making low level comments of narrow-communal politics, may not even remember that he is the 'Health and Medical Minister'. He has neither any power nor will, just a plaque with his name on it.
Akhilesh Yadav said that first of all the Uttar Pradesh BJP government should provide world class medical facilities for all the burnt children and should give Rs 1 crore condolence amount to all the bereaved families who have lost their children. Akhilesh Yadav said, Chief Minister, Gorakhpur should not be repeated.
