Jhansi: Woman farmer breaks SDM’s car over land dispute

In Mauranipur tehsil, a woman farmer and her husband threw a brick at the SDM’s car due to a land dispute. The police took both of them to the police station. The woman says that despite the commissioner’s order, she is not being heard.

Uttar pradesh: On Monday, a female farmer angrily threw a brick at the SDM’s official vehicle in the Mauranipur tehsil complex. Due to this the front glass of the car was broken. The woman, a resident of Vijarwara village in the tehsil, alleged that she had visited the authorities several times, but no solution was found.

The woman said that she tried to give orders by standing in front of the car, but the driver tried to drive away. Angered by this, he threw the brick. As soon as information about the incident was received, area officer Jitendra Singh and Kotwali police reached the spot.

Reaction of police and officials

Police came to the spot and detained the woman and her husband and took them to the police station. Even in front of the police, the farmer husband and wife kept accusing the revenue officials that their case was not being resolved.

According to officials, the consolidation process is going on in the village and the matter has been referred to the concerned officer. Officials assured that the matter will be resolved soon.

The female farmer told that she had already gone to the Commissioner in Jhansi. The Commissioner had ordered the officials to settle their land dispute, but the hearing has not taken place yet in Mauranipur.

The woman said that even today she spoke to the officer in the tehsil to get the order, but she was not heard from. In this frustration, he took the step of throwing a brick at the vehicle.
