Jhanvi Kapoor said- ‘Celebs are made scapegoats’, spoke in defense of Arjun Kapoor
Mumbai Actress Jhanvi Kapoor has openly reacted to the increasing trend of trolling and targeting of celebrities on social media. He especially expressed concern over the hatred being spread against his brother Arjun Kapoor and said that sometimes content creators make stars “scapegoats” just for the sake of views and engagement.
‘The name is used for clickbait’
In an interview given to Grazia magazine, Jhanvi said that today in the digital era, everyone wants to go viral.
“Content creators are just using your name to generate clickbait and engagement. When you look at it from this perspective, what they’re saying has nothing to do with you.”
He added that not every opinion written on the internet matters to him, but when criticism takes the form of harassment, it cannot be ignored.
‘I have seen this happening to my brother’
Jhanvi said that she has closely seen how Arjun Kapoor is trolled and bullied on social media.
“Everyone is doing their job, but when it turns into harassment, as I have seen happen to my brother many times, there can be no excuse for it. Hate only breeds hatred.”
He also said that in such circumstances it is important to keep oneself away from negativity.
Arjun’s emotional post
In the last few months, Arjun Kapoor has been facing trolling regarding his films and personal life. Recently, on the birth anniversary of his late mother Mona Shourie Kapoor, he shared an emotional post, in which he admitted that the past had been very difficult for him, but he would recover.
