The glory of mangoes of Jharkhand! Export started in international market, first consignment left for United Kingdom

Amrapali Mango Export UK: The central government is continuously making many efforts to increase the income of farmers. Export of mangoes from Jharkhand state has been successfully started and the first consignment has been sent to United Kingdom. The Commerce Ministry has described it as a great example of making local products global. Amrapali mangoes grown by Mahila Farmer Company of Simdega are now about to reach the United Kingdom.

Due to the efforts of APEDA, farmers are getting better prices and women are getting new identity. Due to this, India’s agricultural exports are also getting a new and strong momentum. This special initiative will greatly encourage the farmer groups of the area to adopt quality production. Farmers will now be fully motivated to improve post-harvest management.

Departure of first commercial consignment

APEDA has successfully dispatched the first commercial consignment of fresh mangoes. This consignment was flagged off from Kolkata on 4 June 2026 and sent directly to the United Kingdom. This consignment includes mangoes from Mahila Farmer Company of Simdega district of Jharkhand. 1.5 metric tonnes of fresh Amrapali mangoes received from Beura Farmer Producer Company has been sent through this consignment.

Contact between exporters and farmers

This consignment is being exported to London by Kolkata-based M/s JGB Agrofresh Pvt. Ltd. This export has become possible only after an important program organized for the farmers of Simdega district. A special capacity development program was organized by APEDA on 5th May, 2026. The main objective of this program was to focus on export requirements, quality standards and new market opportunities.

New opportunities for farmers

APEDA established contact between the two companies for procurement of exportable quality mangoes. It was through this connection between Beura Farmer Producer Company and M/s JGB Agrofresh that the current consignment became possible. This initiative will give a new identity globally to farmers who comply with international standards. Government schemes are empowering farmers and their local products are reaching international markets.
