BJP's UCC and India Block brought Sarna Dharma Code…both opened their bundle of election promises.
There is not much time left for assembly elections in Jharkhand. The fate of the veterans is to be decided here exactly after a week. Here out of 81, voting will be held on 43 seats in the first phase while voting on 38 seats will be held on November 20. Now about a week is left for the election campaign on the first phase seats and along with the ruling India Bloc led by Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, the opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has also released the manifesto of election promises. Both BJP's 'Sankalp Patra' and India Block's 'One Vote, Seven Guarantees' have targeted tribal, youth and women votes.
Talking about BJP's manifesto, the party has promised to implement Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in Jharkhand. Releasing his resolution letter, Home Minister Amit Shah further said that tribals will be kept out of the purview of UCC. Here, India Block has guaranteed to implement Sarna Dharma Code in response to BJP's resolve to implement UCC.
These are the promises in the manifesto of both the parties
In the manifesto released by BJP for Jharkhand elections, it is being talked about making a strategy to help the poor. In this, promise of providing every pucca house, infiltration and removal of infiltrators have been mentioned. Because of this, mostly people from the poor class have been affected.
If we talk about the ruling coalition, promises have been made to increase the free ration for the poor to seven kg and to provide gas cylinders for Rs 450. Along with this, a guarantee has also been given to provide family health insurance cover of up to Rs 15 lakh to every family.
How is the focus on youth?
Both the alliances are eyeing the youth vote bank. BJP has promised to provide five lakh jobs in five years in its manifesto. It has also been said that about 3 lakh government posts will be filled in a fair and transparent manner. Apart from this, it has also been mentioned in the resolution letter to give two thousand rupees per month to every graduate and post graduate degree holder youth.
Here, the JMM-led alliance has promised to open degree colleges in every block of the state and engineering colleges, medical colleges and universities at the district headquarters. Apart from this, it has been written in its manifesto about creating industrial parks on 500-500 acres in every district as well as providing employment opportunities by bringing industrial promotion policy.

In its manifesto for the tribals, BJP has promised to develop tribal religious and cultural places and provide support. Apart from this, a manifesto has been issued with the promise of building a memorial of Lord Birsa Munda in Jamshedpur, stopping illegal infiltration and expelling the infiltrators from the border of Jharkhand.
At the same time, India Block has guaranteed to implement the Sarna Dharma Code. Along with bringing a localism policy based on Khatian of 1932, it has also promised to preserve the regional language and culture.
Farmer
The ruling India Bloc has also guaranteed farmer welfare to help the farmers. India Block has promised to increase the Minimum Support Price (MSP) of paddy from Rs 2400 to Rs 3200. India Block has also promised in its election manifesto to increase the support price of Lah, Tasar, Karanj, Tamarind, Mahua, Chironji, Sal seeds by 50 percent.
