Jharkhand Assembly Elections: Nomination for first phase starts from tomorrow, nomination will be filed within 5 hours

Ranchi: The first phase of nomination for Jharkhand Assembly elections 2023 will start from Friday and nominations cannot be filed on the holiday. Chief Electoral Officer K Ravi Kumar has said that nominations for the first phase of assembly elections will start from October 18. The last date for nomination is 25 October. Nomination will take place from 11 am to 3 pm. Nomination will not take place on holidays.

These are the rules for the candidates

K Ravi Kumar said that all the candidates will ensure to follow the guidelines of the Election Commission during nomination. During this period, only three vehicles will be allowed to enter within a radius of 100 meters of the enrollment site. Only four people will be able to go to the nomination room with the candidate. Proposal of 10 people will be mandatory for nomination of the candidate. Every general candidate will have to deposit Rs 10,000 as security deposit. Whereas for Scheduled Caste/Tribe this amount will be five thousand rupees.

Must provide criminal record

Every candidate will have to fill Form 26 clearly and completely in the form of an affidavit. Candidates will have to advertise information related to their criminal cases in at least three newspapers. It will also have to be displayed on your social media accounts. He said that every candidate should open a separate bank account for the details of election expenses.

Artists' gathering in Ranchi

The two-day art festival related to the assembly elections is starting from Friday at Jaipal Singh Stadium. It will be inaugurated on Friday at 11 am. In the festival, 81 renowned artists will showcase their art on cultural concerns related to 81 assembly constituencies of Jharkhand. Many types of cultural activities will also take place on this occasion. On this occasion, the Chief Electoral Officer invited all the voters and appealed to come with their families.

He said that since the implementation of the Model Code of Conduct, a total of illegal goods and cash worth Rs 37 lakh have been seized.
