This seat reserved for Scheduled Tribes is considered the safest seat for JMM. Voting on Barhet assembly seat will be held on 20th November. This seat is considered the stronghold of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha. CM Hemant Soren has filed nomination from Barhet assembly seat for the third consecutive time.

Who is Gamaliel Hembram?

Gamaliel Hembram, BJP candidate from Barhet seat, left his job as a teacher and became active in politics about 5 years ago. He got only 2573 votes. Hemant Soren won this seat. Hemant Soren got 73,725 votes. BJP candidate Simon Malto was in second place. He got 47,985 votes.

Jharkhand Mukti Morcha was continuously taunting the Bharatiya Janata Party for not releasing the list of candidates for Barhat, the hottest seat of Jharkhand.
