6 year old child dies after eating Golgappa, 17 people fall ill
Gandey, Jharkhand: A painful case has come to light from Giridih district of Jharkhand, where the health of 17 people suddenly deteriorated after eating golgappa and chaat. These include mostly children. Everyone started complaining of high fever, stomach ache, vomiting and diarrhea, after which they were immediately admitted to the hospital. This incident took place in Budgeto village of Mufassil police station area. It is being told that a person had come to the village on Saturday evening to sell Golgappa and chaat. Many children and elders of the village ate chaat and Golgappa from him. The very next morning, the health of the eaters started deteriorating.

Among the sick, the condition of a 6-year-old child, Ranjan Kumar Verma, became more serious and he died during treatment. After this incident, there is an atmosphere of mourning in the entire village. All the remaining patients are being treated at Giridih Sadar Hospital. According to doctors, it seems to be a case of food poisoning. The condition of all the patients admitted in the hospital is said to be out of danger at present, but the doctors are continuously monitoring them.
As soon as information about the incident was received, the district administration also became active. DC Ramniwas Yadav reached the village along with the officials in the night itself and took stock of the situation. The administration has started investigating the entire matter. Gandey MLA Kalpana Soren has expressed grief over this incident. He said that this is a very sad incident and strict action should be taken against the culprits. He also talked about giving instructions for better treatment of hospitalized people and testing of food items.
