Jharkhand Govt: Jharkhand government appoints Adjudicating Officer, a big step to stop cyber fraud

Jharkhand Govt: Jharkhand government has taken a big step for speedy disposal of complaints related to increasing cyber fraud and electronic transactions in the state. The state government has appointed the Secretary of the Information Technology and e-Governance Department as the Adjudicating Officer. They have implemented SOP to resolve complaints.

This decision has been taken under the instructions of Jharkhand High Court and Section 46 of the Information Technology Act, 2000. The new SOP will be implemented after getting the approval of the Chief Minister in his capacity as departmental minister. Along with this, it has also been legally verified from the Law Department.

Know what is its purpose

Under the new system, complaints related to cyber fraud, online fraud and electronic transactions will be resolved in a transparent, uniform and time bound manner. Its objective is to strengthen the trust of common people and businessmen in digital governance.

Complaints can be lodged through online-offline means

According to the SOP, cases involving loss and compensation up to Rs 5 crore will be heard by the Adjudicating Officer. Complaints can be filed through online and offline medium. Unique case numbers will be provided to both the defendant and the complainant. Tracking of cases will become easier.

Hearing will be held through both mediums

The hearing will be held both online and offline. All processes will be recorded digitally. If needed, assistance will also be taken from technical and legal experts. After completion of investigation, orders will be uploaded on the departmental portal.
