According to the information, in the last 11 days, Chinese choppers and big knives At least seven attacks have taken place since. One person has died in these incidents, while eight people have been injured. These continuous incidents have created an atmosphere of fear and insecurity in the city.

Jamshedpur East MLA Purnima Das Sahu said that it is a very serious matter that even school going students are roaming around with such dangerous weapons. He said, “In the last few days, there have been frequent attacks with Chinese choppers and butcher knives. One person has also died. The biggest matter of concern is that even school children are carrying such weapons.” He demanded the city police and district administration to control the sale of these weapons and regularly check the bags of students in schools.

What action did the police take?

Jamshedpur SP Kumar Shivashish said that at present there is no clear rule on the sale of Chinese choppers or such big knives and they are easily available in the market at cheap prices. He said that these weapons are small, can be easily hidden and can prove to be extremely dangerous. Police said that during the Ram Navami procession, 37 choppers, two air pistols and a dummy gun were recovered from Sonari Police Station area.

Strict action against illegal weapons

According to the police, due to the action against illegal weapons, gun related crimes have reduced by 30%. Last year, 140 illegal weapons were seized, while this year so far more than 30 weapons have been seized. Police say that now surveillance on the sale of Chinese choppers will also be increased.
