Ranchi: After the elections held on 23 February in 48 municipal bodies of Jharkhand, counting of votes started on 27 February. In Ranchi, BJP-backed candidate for mayor Roshni Khalko is leading over Congress candidate and former mayor Rama Khalko. In Dhanbad, BJP’s rebel candidate and former MLA Sanjeev Singh is said to be close to victory. Whereas in Hazaribagh, Arvind Kumar Rana has defeated Sarfaraz Ahmed. From Giridih, JMM supported mayor candidate Pramila Mehra is leading by about seven thousand votes. BJP supported Dr. Shailendra Chaudhary is at second position. The results of Pakur Municipal Council elections were declared on Friday. Shabari Pal won the post of president.

BJP supported Anil Oraon had a thrilling victory in Lohardaga. Anil Oraon defeated Pawan Ekka, who was standing without political support. JMM’s Balmukund Lohra stood third and Congress-backed candidate Santosh Oraon stood fourth. Independent candidate from Jamtara Nagar Panchayat, Asha Gupta, defeated the BJP-backed candidate by securing 974 votes in a thrilling contest. Asha Gupta got 6880 votes, former Jamtara NP President Reena Kumari got 5906 votes. The counting results of the election for the post of Municipal Council Gumla President have been released. A total of 23,531 votes were cast in this election, out of which 21,606 votes were found valid, while 1,925 votes were declared invalid. There were a total of nine candidates in the election fray.

Under the Dhanbad Municipal Corporation elections, counting of votes for Dhanbad Municipal Corporation and Chirkunda Municipal Council is going on at Government Polytechnic Dhanbad. In this, former MLA Sanjeev Singh, husband of BJP’s Jharia MLA Ragini Singh, is leading. He has got 15,791 votes. Former mayor Chandrashekhar Aggarwal is at second place. They have received 10,524. Arvind Kumar Rana has won the election of Hazaribagh Municipal Corporation Mayor. He has received a total of 23500 votes. He has defeated his nearest rival Sarfaraz Ahmed by 4657 votes. Sarfaraz has got 18847 votes.

Big news is coming out from Ranchi Municipal Corporation. In the second round, BJP supported candidate Roshni Khalkho is leading by 22,500 votes. On the other hand, the results of Khunti Nagar Panchayat elections have come out. According to this, BJP supported candidate Rani Tooti has won. Congress supported candidate Nominate Bodra stood second. He got 5298 votes. The election results of various wards of Ranchi Municipal Corporation have been declared. In the second round of counting of votes for Deoghar Municipal Corporation Mayor election, counting till ward number 11 has been completed. In second place is JMM-backed candidate Ravi Rawat, who has received 4,700 votes so far. At the same time, Baba Ballia has received 2,510 votes and is running at the third position. In Chakulia Nagar Panchayat elections, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha supported candidate Somwari Soren has won the post of president by 727 votes.
