Sports News: Ghatshila’s strong performance in state level karate championship, won 11 medals – Haribhoomi

Jharkhand Sub Junior Karate Championship: In the Jharkhand State Sub-Junior, Cadet and Junior Karate Championship 2026, the players of Ghatshila brought glory to the entire region by performing brilliantly. About 650 children from across the state participated in this competition organized on 25 and 26 April 2026. This was the only team from Ghatshila to represent East Singhbhum district in the competition.

A total of 29 players from Ghatshila team participated in different categories. The players displayed excellent sportsmanship, discipline and confidence and won 11 medals. The team achieved great success by winning 5 silver and 6 bronze medals.

Among the players who won medals, the names of Shraddha Adhikari, Varshita Gorai, Rajkumar De, Hardik Gorai, Ananya Choudhary, Mahabir Patar, Tejas Dutta, Tikshita Das, Prapti Nanda, Sayan De and Arshpreet Kaur are prominent. These players gave a proud opportunity to Ghatshila with their play.

The team coach also had a big contribution behind this achievement. Sensei Manohar Barik and Sensei Mistu Rani Dey continuously trained the players and prepared them mentally and physically. It is the result of his hard work and coaching that the team could perform better at the state level. Although all the players could not get medals, but everyone competed with full enthusiasm and sportsmanship. The passion, hard work and struggle of the players won the hearts of the spectators and organizers.

Sports lovers believe that this success of the players of Ghatshila will inspire other children of the area to join sports in the coming times. Besides, this will further strengthen the identity of Ghatshila and East Singhbhum in the sports world.
