Ranchi: Chief Electoral Officer K Ravi Kumar has said that preparations have been completed at all 24 centers for counting of votes for the assembly elections. Three-tier security arrangements have been made at the counting centres. Counting of votes will start at 8 am on Saturday morning. Counting of postal ballots will begin first. All postal ballots received till 8 am will be included in the counting. Counting of EVM votes will also start from 8.30 am. Trends will start coming from 9.30 am. The final election results are likely to come before 5 pm. By the way, the preparation is to complete the entire process of counting of votes by 4 pm. He was holding a press conference at Nirvachan Sadan, Dhurva on Friday.

No one except DEO and RO is allowed to carry mobile inside the counting centre. Entry of any policeman into the counting hall will be restricted. Journalists will be able to take their mobile phones to the media centre. Photographs inside the counting hall will be allowed to be taken only once with the camera under the supervision of officials. He said that the shorter the round of counting of votes in an assembly constituency, the sooner the result will come. He said that the least number of 13 rounds of vote counting will be in Torpa assembly constituency. In Littipara also there will be only 14 rounds of counting. Maximum 27 rounds of counting of votes will take place in Chatra assembly constituency.

In response to a question, he said that the voters of the state, the candidates and the political parties all respect the law, hence the possibility of a clash regarding the victory procession etc. is negligible. Expressing satisfaction over the highest turnout in Jharkhand, he said that the election process will be completed with the handing over of the list of winning candidates to the Honorable Governor.
